Finishes and fixtures have been completely updated throughout. The project team included BR+A Consulting Engineers, in charge of MEP engineering consulting and design, Davis Construction as general contractor and CBRE, managing overall construction and design on behalf of MedStar Health. The project meets the new green construction requirements implemented by DCRA’s Green Building Division and has helped to establish standards for future work within the hospital.

WJA has completed a new office suite for law firm Birchstone Moore at Georgetown Plaza, 2233 Wisconsin Ave NW. The simple and functional layout is emphasized by minimalist details and an elegant color palette. The existing physical properties of the suite are used to a maximum e.g. the glass and sidelights maximize the views (National Cathedral) and bring natural light into the space, while exposing the concrete slab ceiling, creating a feeling of spaciousness and openness. The entry spills into two conference rooms and extends through the foyer to a multifunctional area that can be utilized as a kitchenette, informal meeting area or space for events. The space is furnished with Bialek selected contemporary furniture that completes the interior architectural design.
